The Emerging Playwrights Project provides professional and creative mentorship. The program will focus on turning writers into Writer/Producers who can meet the challenges of mounting a production while forging strong collaborations with directors, theatre companies, actors, and technicians.

Our Mission

Flamboyán seeks to create a multi-platform arts space for Puerto Rican stories to be told, and to support musicians, poets, and artisans using a community-based collaboration model.

Empire of Solitude

A dramatization of the last days of the life of Puerto Rican feminist poet Julia de Burgos. Currently unproduced and seeking creative partners and sponsors.

Past Projects

Puerto Rican Nocturne

A chronicle of the Cerro Maravilla murders and their aftermath. This play looks at the controversial crime through the eyes of the undercover agent who organized the killings of independence activists, and the mother of one of the victims. The play had its first run August 5-21, 2022 at The Bug Theatre, with additional shows at Factory Five Five Oct 13-16, 2022.
